HBCSD Schools Recognized Among California’s Top Performers
Huntington Beach City School District (HBCSD) has been recognized by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) as a 2025 Honor Roll District, celebrating outstanding academic achievement and student success. Five HBCSD schools also earned places on the statewide list of top-performing schools.
ERP’s 2025 Honor Roll, now in its eleventh year, identifies California’s highest-performing public schools, districts, and charter schools that demonstrate consistent academic growth and success in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically underserved student populations.
This year, 1,834 schools and 158 districts across California earned the distinction, representing roughly 21 percent of all eligible schools and districts in the state.

“This recognition reflects the dedication and teamwork of our students, staff, and families,” said Superintendent Dr. Leisa Winston. “Each of our schools is focused on providing meaningful learning experiences that help students grow academically and personally. We are proud to see their efforts honored at the state level.”
The ERP Honor Roll program, supported by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence, uses multiple years of publicly available data from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Recognition is based on schools’ ability to achieve above-average performance while maintaining equitable outcomes for all student groups.
With both the district and several of its schools earning recognition across “Star” and “Scholar” categories, HBCSD continues to demonstrate that strong instruction, data-informed practices, and supportive learning environments lead to measurable student success.
HBCSD and its honored schools will be featured on the ERP Honor Roll website.
