I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our Peterson families as we get ready to begin another exciting school year together! This initial post is lengthy, but please take a moment to review it thoroughly. Please note the following updates regarding events listed in the sections below that are happening at Peterson and throughout HBCSD this week.

Peterson is committed to providing ongoing information and updates via ParentSquare and our school website. Please ensure the email addresses you have entered in your Aeries portal are accurate and updated as needed. All primary mass communication from Peterson is sent via ParentSquare. We encourage all of our families to download the ParentSquare app and enable push notifications to ensure you receive all communication in a timely manner. Each week, you will receive a weekly newsletter from the principal on Sundays at 5:00p.m. as well as a separate weekly update from your child's teacher. Additionally, the Peterson PTA sends our newsletters and updates as needed for all PTA sponsored events on campus. Please continue to check your emails regularly to ensure you are receiving all Peterson communications.

On Monday 8/25/25, our Aeries Parent Portal will open for data confirmation. All parents, even those who recently enrolled, will be required to login to the Parent Portal to review, revise, and update the student information and emergency contacts. Additionally, all required school documents and forms will need to be reviewed and/or completed. On Friday, 8/29/25 after 4:00 pm, parents can login to the Parent Portal to view your child's teacher assignment for this school year. Please understand that a lot of consideration went into making class placements to ensure classes are balanced by gender, ability, needs, and more. 

Our school year will begin Tuesday, September 2nd and will follow our planning day schedule (TK dismissed at 12:30 pm, Grades K-3 dismissed at 1:46 pm, Grades 4-5 dismissed at 1:55p.m.).

Parents are welcome to join us on campus that morning as we kick off the school year. Please reference the attachment titled 'Peterson Map with Teachers Gates'. Please keep in mind when choosing first day outfits that our students sit on the blacktop in their class lines.

The 2025-2026 Peterson bell schedule is attached to this message and is also available on our website.

In order to maximize student learning and avoid classroom interruptions, please be sure that your child arrives on time.

A separate communication will be sent regarding drop-off & pick-up procedures. Please review it thoroughly to ensure all safety protocols are followed. Parents may walk their child to their classroom for the first two days of school. Beginning Thursday, September 4, parents will drop off and pick up their child at their assigned gate.

School breakfast and lunch will be offered free of charge throughout the 2025-2026 school year.

At Peterson, we pride ourselves on our strong sense of community and we love campus and classroom volunteers!

Parent & community volunteers are welcome to support our various classroom activities with proof of a negative TB test, Raptor clearance, and a signed Peterson Volunteer Agreement. All campus visitors must enter and exit through the main office.

Please contact the Peterson office with any questions regarding this requirement or to check the date/status of TB results you may have on file from last year.

If your student requires medication while on campus, we must have their prescription(s) with their doctor's orders on file in the Health office. Please drop off any medications with the appropriate paperwork anytime from Friday on.

We are still accepting registrations for the 2025-2026 school year for all new and incoming students.
